Files and formats​

What file types work?​

CSV (.csv) and Excel (.xlsx) without macros. JSON, .xls, and macro-enabled workbooks are not supported.

Can I paste from Google Sheets?​

Export or download the sheet as CSV or XLSX first, then upload the local file. Remote URLs are not supported.

Is there a row or size limit?​

Yes. Default limits are 25 MiB per file and 100,000 rows.

The import flow​

When are cards actually created?​

Only after you click Import on the Review step. Upload, Set up, and Review do not change your board.

Can I undo an import?​

Board-Import+ does not automatically delete cards that were already created. Cancel stops remaining cards, but completed ones stay on the board. Restore from a backup or remove them manually in Trello if needed.

Can I import part of a file?​

Yes. On the Review step, uncheck cards you do not want. Only selected cards are imported.

Mapping and data​

Do I need a List column?​

Not always. You can put every card into one list using Import options, or map a column to List on the Set up step.

What happens with Board Export+ files?​

Board-Import+ recognizes Board Export+ exports and can offer Use full restore for a closer round-trip import.

Why were some rows skipped?​

Common reasons include missing card names, invalid dates, members not on the board, or unsupported values. Check Import notes on Review and download the issue report after import.

Access and privacy​

Why does Board-Import+ need write access?​

Write access is required to create cards, lists, and labels after you confirm the import. Read access validates the board before anything is written.

Where is my file stored?​

Uploaded files are kept only as long as needed to process the import, then removed according to the privacy policy.
